Challenges to Solve

If you are passionate about creating a better banking experience for everyone, you should definitely join RHB Get Your Hack On to create something amazing. Here are the 5 problem statements we have prepared for this competition. You can pick any one challenge to solve, or incorporate more than one if it's relevant to your project. Please take nore that you don't have to solve all 5 challenges provided below.

 

Challenge 1

How might we enable a fully digital customer journey for emerging affluent customers from onboarding to transactions while keeping the personal relationship nature of banking so that we could securely migrate our customers to mobile and internet banking channels and efficiently serve them remotely?

Challenge 2

How might we reimagine the interaction between the bank and SMEs in the growing digital world while keeping the personal touch intact so that we can maintain and improve the bank-biz owner relationship?

Challenge 3

How might we enable the creation and validation of financial information, robust future cash flow predictions and sustainable business model strategies for fast growing startups or companies so that we can help build trusted and transparent credit profiles that provide RHB greater level of confidence of their credit-worthiness?

Challenge 4

How might we use innovative technologies to assess applications for financing from SMEs so that we can improve RHB's credit decisions and reduce cases of default?

Challenge 5

How might we use innovative solutions to make RHB the employer of choice for digital talents so that we can reduce external reliance on vendors to scale our digital initiatives?

How it Works

We know many of you may have already attended many hackathon events, even virtual hackathons in recent times but here is how our Virtual Hackathon will work:

 

Registration

Register as a Team (max 3 pax) or Individual by filling up the registration form before 7th June 2021. All participants, both professionals or students will compete in the same track.

Virtual Hacking

Registered participants will be invited to our virtual event platform. Kickoff Briefing will begin on 11th June, 9.00am with the full details to start hacking.

Virtual Demo Day

All teams are required to complete their projects by 12.00pm on 13th June for the 1st round evaluation (demo day). The top 10 teams will be shortlisted for the Grand Finals.

Virtual Grand Finals

The top 10 teams will be presenting their improved or enhanced projects to our panel of Grand Judges on 19th June virtually.

You need to fill up the official registration form with your full details, as a team or solo participant. Priority slots will be given to teams.

 

This competition is now open to teams and solo participants so you can have up to 3 members in each team; with at least 1 coder. If you're a solo participant, you must be the coder.

 

You can, as a Team, but make sure you have at least 1 coder in your team so that you can build and submit a working prototype.

 

No, this event is completely free for all eligible participants. The organisers will take care of everything to ensure a great hackathon experience.

 

You’re required to build an innovative solution in the banking space. You are encouraged to build something new and exciting to make the banking experience better.

The Virtual Hackathon begins on Friday, 11th June 2021 at 9.00am and ends on Sunday, 13th June 2021 at 3.00pm. The Grand Finals will be on 19th June 2021.

 

We want to see highly innovative solutions, originality, good design and also evaluate the technical ability of the team members to execute the projects.

 

This is a virtual event. You are not required to be in or travel to Kuala Lumpur for any of the activities. You can fully participate from anywhere around Malaysia.

 

The teams will be required to present your projects to our panel of judges virtually through our virtual event platform.
